Annual Race Calendar Scheduling

Meeting A scheduling meeting is held annually in either late October or early November.  The purpose is two-fold: to elect new SCNCA trustees and to establish the next year's USCF race calendar.  The meeting is open to anyone.  Each member club is allocated one vote for the election of the SCNCA trustees.

Once the elections have concluded, the scheduling of the following year's race calendar begins.  Here is a summary of the general rules that apply to the scheduling meeting:

  • Each member club/promoter is allotted one race date. Once every club has had a chance at a date, clubs may choose additional dates.

  • Member clubs/promoters with "established" races, will be given preference on their race date.  Many of our races have a long history of being held on the same weekend.

  • There is a "120 mile" rule.  We will to our best to not schedule two events on the same day that are closer than 120 miles to each other.

  • Member clubs are encouraged to pool their resources to put on a combined event.

  • In the case of a scheduling conflict, the member clubs will be expected to resolve the issue.

How to Permit Your Event

    SCNCA Provided Video Equipment

The SCNCA has recently purchased a camera system that is comprised of a video camera and Apple iBook.  This is an easy to use system that will enable you to pick all the riders in a crit or road race. The cost of the equipment is $100 per day. The operator is paid as an official.  Please contact Eric Smith to check on availability.
